Loose Canons is a free-form podcast about movies, hosted (somewhat) weekly by Reuben Clay, Ilya Grigorev, Basil Soares, and Patrick Williams (with the occasional guest host).
Each week a different member will select a movie that (hopefully) none of us have seen before. After we watch the film we convene, via the wonders of the internet, to record our discussion. Sometimes these discussions are filled with intelligent critical analysis, other times we just make dumb jokes for an hour. As our title implies, our sense of organization is very limited -- any film at any time in history is up for grabs. From experimental '60s shorts to illegal Italian adaptations of American novels to brand-new Hollywood blockbusters, we aim to enjoy/ridicule as many aspects of film history as possible.
To get a sense of how our taste runs we have created a Loose Canon comprising sixty-three films we love (Part 1/Part 2). In the spirit of keeping things appropriately loose, we will update our canon every year or whenever we feel like it.
